Sylvia Sarah Joppich

Sylvia Sarah Joppich, 78, of 70 East St. died Wednesday at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in Patchogue, N.Y., on Aug. 12, 1928, daughter of William and Concettina Tomassone Venero, she attended schools on Long Island. Mrs. Joppich was a homemaker. She was a 17-year volunteer at North Adams Regional Hospital and a four-year volunteer at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown. She was a communicant of St. Mary' Church in Cheshire and enjoyed crossword puzzles and going to the movies. She and her husband, Robert P. Joppich, celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary Oct. 26. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Janice E. Dzbenski of Adams, and a sister, Rose Cimina of Maryland. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Sylvia Joppich, who died Dec. 20, 2006, will be conducted Saturday at 10 at PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, by the Rev. David Raymond, pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be tomorrow, Dec. 23, from 9 until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Jimmy Fund through the funeral home. She also leaves a son-in-law, Joseph.
