Gordon W. Hermon, 82

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Gordon William Hermon, 82, of 12 Aztec Drive died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at North Adams Regional Hospital.

Born in North Adams on July 11, 1924, son of Gordon and Elizabeth Waterhouse Hermon, he graduated from Drury High School.

Mr. Hermon was employed by North Adams Regional Hospital as a purchasing manager for many years, retiring July 29, 1988.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, of Naomi Chapter 17 and Franklin Chapter 92, Order of Eastern Star, of Frank R. Stiles Post 125 American Legion and of Lafayette-Greylock Lodge AF & AM.

He and his wife, the former Mabel L. Trombley, were married June 11, 1949.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Robert W. Hermon Sr. and his wife, Barbara Lynn, of Davenport, Fla.;two grandchildren, Robert W. Hermon Jr. and Heather Lynn Baughman, and two great-grandchildren, Alixandria M. Baughman and Elizabeth Hermon.

FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Hermon will be conducted Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 10 at First Baptist Church by the Rev. David Anderson, pastor. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams.

Calling hours will be Monday from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the North Adams First Baptist Church Elevator Fund through the church, 131 Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. Auge-San Soucie-Simmons Funeral Home, 46 North Church St., North Adams, is in charge of arrangements.
