Marie F. Rohane, 86
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Marie Frances Rohane, 86, of 22 Rose Morin Drive, Falmouth, formerly of North Adams, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at Falmouth Hospital.
Born in Stratford, Conn., on Feb. 14, 1920, daughter of James and Ellen Hughes King, she attended schools in North Adams. She moved to Falmouth in 1976.
Mrs. Rohane was employed by the former General Cable Co. in Pownal, Vt., retiring in 1970. Previously, she worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. While in Falmouth, she worked part time at the Falmouth Enterprise Newspaper.
She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Falmouth, and a former communicant of St. Francis' Church. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Falmouth, and enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
Her husband, George William Rohane, whom she married Nov. 4, 1939, in St. Francis' Church, died March 13, 1998.
She leaves two daughters, Ellen Root of Kissimmee, Fla., and Margaret King of East Falmouth; a son, William Francis Rohane of Sandwich; three brothers, Francis King and Harold King, both of Clarksburg, and William King of Chicopee; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings Vincent, Donald and James King and Catherine Felix.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Rohane will be conducted Thursday at 10:15 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St., North Adams followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.
