Mary M. Orts, 65, died Wednesday at Springside of Pittsfield, where she had resided for 2 1/2 years. Born in Succasunna, N.J., on Dec. 24, 1941, daughter of Martin L. and Eleanor Bell Orts, she was a graduate of Roxbury (N.J.) High School and of Passaic County Community College in Paterson, N.J. Ms. Orts was a homemaker. An active volunteer, she worked with the homeless, the elderly and foster children, and at shelters for drug-addicted women. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She leaves three daughters, Robin Williams of Lake Hopatcong, N.J., and Jolene Mejias and Yolanda Salinas, both of Pittsfield; two sons, Craig Orts of Pittsfield and Mark Nelson of Gainsville, S.C.; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mary M. Orts, who died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, will be tomorrow at 10 a.m. at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME. Cremation will follow. There will be an hour of visitation the day of the service beginning at 9 a.m. Donations may be made to the Huntington's Foundation, in care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
