Marion Doris Babeu Williams, 73, formerly of 61 Carson Ave., died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Nancy Wojnicki, at 350 Kemp Ave., North Adams. Born in North Adams on March 18, 1933, daughter of Homer and Aldora Contois Babeu, she attended schools in North Adams including the former Notre Dame Parochial School and completed the former Notre Dame Commercial course. She was last employed in the North Adams School System for more than 20 years before retiring in 1996. Previously, she was employed with J. J. Newberry Store in North Adams. She was a communicant of Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church in North Adams where she taught CCD classes for many years, and later at St. Francis of Assisi Church in North Adams. She was a member of the Dominican Order of Springfield. Her husband, Robert Williams, whom she married May 3, 1952, in Notre Dame Church, died Sept. 2, 1980. In addition to her daughter, she leaves two sons, Lawrence Williams of Greenville, S.C., and Michael Williams of Clarksburg; a sister, Theresa Beauchamp of Adams; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Marion Doris Babeu Williams, who died Sunday, March 4, 2007, will take place Saturday at 10:15 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony's of Padua Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested for VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire in care of the funeral home. Mrs. Williams also leaves two daughters-in-law, Donna and Terri Williams; a son-in-law, Robert Wojnicki; seven grandchildren, Melissa and Jeremey Hayes, Terri, Aaron and Adrian Williams, Christopher and Kyle Wojnicki. She was predeceased by a daughter, Beverly Hayes, who died December 5, 1983.
