Lucie Josephine Jones

Lucie Josephine Jones, 74, of 514 Main St., died Tuesday at home. Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 27, 1932, daughter of Edwin and Stella Buianowicz Brower, she attended Pittsfield schools and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mrs. Jones took care of her great-grandchildren during the day and worked as a service desk clerk during the evenings at Marshall's Department Store, retiring in 2006 due to poor health. Before that, she was employed as a clerk at the service desk of the former Hills and the former Ames stores. At one time, she had worked at General Electric Co. She was a communicant of St. Agnes Church in Dalton. Mrs. Jones leaves two sons, Charles W. Jones Jr. of San Antonio and Daniel S. Jones of Knoxville, Tenn.; two daughters, Susan M. Kerr of Pittsfield and Teresa A. Kardasen of Hinsdale; a brother, Charles Brower of Pittsfield; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Lucie Josephine Jones, who died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, will be held tomorrow at 12:30 from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. at St. Agnes Church, celebrated by the Rev. Christopher J. Malatesta, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Jones may be made to the Berkshire Visiting Nurse Association or to HospiceCare in the Berkshires care of the funeral home, 890 East Main St., Dalton. Mrs. Jones also leaves her five grandchildren, Angela Lee, Brady Kerr, Joshua Kardasen and Arliegh and Benjamin Jones and her two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Cameron Lee. She was predeceased by two brothers, Lawrence and Edwin Brower.
