Robert J. Kelly

Robert J. Kelly, 81, of 6 Main St., The Curtis, died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on May 9, 1925, son of John and Mary Burke Kelly, he graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1944 and from St. Michael's College in 1948. Mr. Kelly was employed by the Welfare Department of Pittsfield for 29 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1984. Before that, he worked at General Electric Co. and with his father in the family business, the former Kelly's Market on West Street. He was a communicant of St. Ann's Church and a former longtime communicant of St. Mark's Church. He leaves a son, David Kelly of Leominster; four daughters, Barbara Besaw of Lee, Patricia Duval of Lenox, Ann Marie Spear of Hamstead, N.C., and Diane Kelly of Exeter, N.H.; a sister, Ann Cotreau of East Dennis; his former wife, Marilyn Honiker Morrisey; 14 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Robert J. Kelly, who died Friday, March 30, 2007, will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, pastor of St. Ann's Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in his memory may be made to the March of Dimes, in care of the funeral home, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201. He was predeceased by a brother, Owen Kelly.
