Edwin Luczynski

Edwin Luczynski, 80, of 37 Crandall St. and Fort Pierce, Fla., died Thursday at the Consulate Rehab Center in Vero Beach, Fla. Born in Clarksburg on Dec. 15, 1926, son of John and Leona Furtek Luczynski, he attended schools in North Adams. A Navy veteran of World War II, he served with the Seabees. Mr. Luczynski was employed by General Electric Co. for many years as a machinist. He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church and a 49-year member and past master of Berkshire Lodge of Masons, where he served as a trustee for 25 years and was instrumental in raising funds for a new lodge. He also received the Joseph Warren Award for distinguished service in freemasonry. He was a member of Melha Shriners, Berkshire Shrine Club, Franklin Chapter 98 Order of Eastern Star and Maple Grove Civic Club, and a former member of the Adams Lodge of Elks. He and his wife, the former Jean R. Johnson, were married May 22, 1948. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Edwin Luczynski of Gloversville, N.Y., and Eric Luczynski of Flagstaff, Ariz.; two daughters, Pamela Wells of Ludlow and Lois Luczynski of New Fairfield, Conn.; a sister, Emma Krypel of Adams; and four grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Edwin Luczynski, who died Thursday, April 5, 2007, will be held Thursday at noon from PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, with a Requiem Eucharist at 1 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church celebrated by the Rev. R. Ellen White, priest-in-charge. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Berkshire Lodge of Masons or to Shriners' Hospital for Children through the funeral home. He also leaves a daughter-in-law, Donna Luczynski; four grandchildren, Kevin Luczynski and his wife, Kimberly, Stacie Luczynski, Michael Wells and his wife, Kristy, and Christopher Wells; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
