William H. Pringle, 77
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — William Hamilton Pringle, 77, of 84 Hall St., died Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at home.
Born in North Adams on March 4, 1930, son of Robert and Dorothy Windrow Pringle, he attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School.
Mr. Pringle was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War, serving with the Marine Corps and earning the rank of sergeant. He was decorated with the Good Conduct Medal.
He was employed by the former North Adams State College as the manager of the mailroom, retiring in 1995. Previously, he was employed by Excelsior Printing Co. as a printer. At one time, he also worked at General Electric Co. and Byam Printing Co.
He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. He was also a member of the Frank R. Stiles Post 125 American Legion and Elks Lodge 487.
He and his wife, the former Barbara Peters, were married March 10, 1951, in North Carolina.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Cynthia Rennell and her husband, Howard, of Pownal, Vt.; a son, William T. Pringle of Clarksburg, and a grandson, Aaron Rennell.
He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Columbus.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Pringle will take place Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in North Adams, with the Rev. Edward King, rector, as the celebrant.
Burial with full military honors will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams are tomorrow from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested for the North Adams Elks Club or the North Adams Ambulance Service through the funeral home.
