Sandra Ruth Goodermote

Sandra Ruth Goodermote, 59 of 150 Ashland St., died Monday at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in Berlin, N.Y., on July 26, 1947, daughter of George M. Phillips Sr. and Marie Teschke Phillips, she attended schools in Berlin and graduated from Berlin Central High School in 1965. Mrs. Goodermote was employed by Western Mass Outerwear, retiring in 1998. Before that, she was employed by Seagroatt's Floral Co. and WJ Cowee Wood Finishing, both in Berlin. She also delivered newspapers for the Troy Record. Later, she became a seamstress and worked at Logistics Sewing Co. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of the Eagles. Her husband, Oliver M. Goodermote Jr., whom she married Dec. 9, 1967, in Bennington, Vt., died Jan. 17, 2000. Mrs. Goodermote leaves three brothers, Nelson Phillips of Berlin, N.Y., Thomas Phillips of Zephyr Hills, Fla., and Berlin and Robert Phillips of Tennessee; and three sisters, Velma Pohleman of Niskayuna, N.Y., Dolores Kimball of Pownal, Vt., and Arlene Palumbo of North Adams. A son, Jesse Martin Goodermote, died in infancy. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Sandra Goodermote, who died Monday, April 17. 2007, are private. Burial will take place in Center Berlin Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, CENTRAL CHAPELS at 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247 is in charge of arrangements. She also leaves nieces and nephews. Five brothers are deceased: George, William, Earl, Lynwood and Kenneth "Tim" Phillips.
