Elsie Stoddard Glynn, 86, of Route 23 in Craryville, N.Y., died Tuesday at Timberlyn Heights Nursing and Extended Care facility in Great Barrington. She was the mother of Charlotte Owens of Sheffield. Born in Ghent, N.Y., on March 24, 1921, she was the daughter of Henry Fitting Sr. and Clara Kohlmeier Fitting. Mrs. Glynn retired from Becton-Dickinson Co. in Canaan, Conn., in 1981. She was a member of the Craryville Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary for many years and a 25-year member of the Copake Grange. She enjoyed travel, arts and crafts and the company of friends at the Senior Center/Nutrition Site at St. Bridget's Church in Copake Falls, N.Y. Her first husband of 38 years, Gilbert L. Stoddard, died Feb. 23, 1977. Her husband of 22 years, Martin H. Glynn, died Dec. 20, 2003. Besides her daughter Charlotte, she leaves another daughter, Marjorie Schutz-Scollon of Yonkers, N.Y.; three sisters, Elizabeth Andrezcsik and Marie Shook, both of Ghent, Margaret Molnar of Hudson, N.Y.; a brother, Christopher Fitting of Hudson; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Elsie Stoddard Glynn, who died Tuesday, April 17, 2007, will be conducted tomorrow at 10 a.m. from PECK & PECK FUNERAL HOME, Route 22, Copake, N.Y., by the Rev. David Vogel of the Harlemville German Church. Friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment is at the Harlemville German Church Cemetery, Harlemville, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider making a donation to the historic Harlemville German Church, care of the funeral home. Mrs. Glynn was predeceased by two brothers, Henry Fitting Jr. and John Fitting; and a sister, Caroline Atwood. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
