William H. Fairfield

William H. Fairfield, 69, of Jacob's Ladder Road, died Saturday at the home of his sister Dorothy "Betty" Bangs of 829 Ashley Falls Road, Ashley Falls. Born in Pittsfield on Feb. 20, 1938, son of Howard and Ellen Kennedy Fairfield, he attended Lenox High School. An Army veteran, he served in Northern Italy with the 62nd Engineer Company from 1959 to 1962. In 1991, Mr. Fairfield established U.S. Sheeters Supply Co., where he worked at the time of his death. Before that, he was employed by Clark-Aiken Manufacturing Co. for 30 years as a foreman/service manager. Besides his sister, he leaves a brother, Richard Fairfield of Lenox. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Graveside services for William H. Fairfield, who died Saturday, May 5, 2007, will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at Ashley Falls Cemetery by the Rev. Betty LeGyt. Expressions of sympathy in Bill's memory may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires or to the Southern Berkshire Volunteer Ambulance Service, both in care of BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230, which is in charge of arrangements. Bill was a quiet man and a very private person. He liked having a good time with his family and friends. He also leaves his brother-in-law, Fred Bangs; his sister-in-law, Ginny Fairfield, and several nieces and nephews.
