Josephine J. Bober

Josephine J. Bober, 90, of 4 Columbia St., died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Oswego, N.Y., on May 21, 1916, daughter of Paul and Antonia Kobas Banas, she moved to Adams at age 6 and was educated at the former Hoosac Street school. She also attended the former Bliss Business School. Mrs. Bober was employed by the former Wall-Streeter Shoe Co. in North Adams from 1964 to 1970. Before that, she was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams from 1958 to 1960. She was a member of St. Stanislaus' Church, the Catholic Daughters of America and Court Sancta Regina of Adams. She enjoyed traveling with her friends. She and her husband, Frank Joseph Bober, were married July 12, 1941, in St. Stanislaus' Church by the Rev. Citowski. Her husband died in 1975. Mrs. Bober leaves two sons, the Rev. Frank Bober of Washington, D.C., and Robert J. Bober of Cheshire; a granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Josephine J. Bober, who died Friday, May 11, 2007, will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. A reception will be held in St. Stanislaus' Church after committal. There are no calling hours; family and friends will meet at the funeral home for a brief time before liturgical service. Mrs. Bober also leaves a daughter-in-law, Alberta J. Bober of Cheshire; her great-granddaughter, Jackelyn Kleiner of Adams; and her great-grandchildren, Kyle, Brooke and Ava Kleiner, all of Adams.
