Maurice E. Larrivee

Maurice E. Larrivee, 81, of 55 Pease Terrace, died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Housatonic on May 13, 1926, son of Ulric and Rosanna Mercier Larrivee, he moved to Lee at a young age and was a 1944 graduate of Lee High School. He also graduated from the former Berkshire Business College and attended Western New England College in Springfield. He was employed by Mead Specialty Paper in South Lee for 47 years as a material services manager. Mr. Larrivee was a communicant and eucharistic minister of St. Mary's Church. He was a member of the Bousquet Ski Patrol from the 1960s to late 1980s, a member of the Greenock Country Club and of its senior league. He enjoyed traveling. He and his wife, the former Elizabeth Giganti, were married July 11, 1953. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Wayne T. Larrivee of Grafton, Wis.; two daughters, Michele L. Turpin of Sugar Land, Texas, and Patricia A. Fisher of Cos Cob, Conn.; a brother, Adrien Larrivee of Delmar, N.Y.; and eight grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Maurice Larrivee, who died Thursday, July 5, 2007, will be held at KELLY FUNERAL HOME at 12:15 p.m. Monday. A Liturgy of Christian will be celebrated at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to St. Mary's School or to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, care of the funeral home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238. Maurice leaves his beloved grandchildren, Scott and Bryan Larrivee, Matthew, Zachary, Lindsay and Stephen Fisher and Bridget and Sarah Turpin; his devoted daughter-in-law, Julie Larrivee; and two sons-in-Law, Scott Fisher and Gary Turpin. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph, and his sister, Matilda Thibedeau.
