William H. Beck

William H. Beck, 77, of Fulton, N.Y., died Saturday at Vassar Hospital in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Mr. Beck was a former resident of Becket. Born in New York state on June 10, 1930, he was the son of William G. and Matilda Wassenmuller Beck. Before moving to Fulton, Mr. Beck was a longtime dairy farmer in Dutchess County, N.Y. Until his retirement, he was the owner of William H. Beck Inc., a trucking firm in Fulton. He leaves a son, Wayne Nelson of Centennial, Colo.; a stepson, Scott Nelson of Staatsburg, N.Y.; a stepdaughter, Debbie Leavitt of Connecticut; a brother, Edwin Beck of Poughkeepsie; and a sister, Matilda Hohl of Plainfield. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Graveside services for William H. Beck, who died Saturday, July 7, 2007, will be on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Arrangements are by SUTTON FUNERAL HOMES, 1 Woodside Place, Highland, N.Y. He also leaves behind a longtime friend, Merle Coy; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Nelson; his grandchildren, Olivia and Erin; a stepdaughter-in-law, Penny Nelson; a stepson-in-law, Adam Leavitt; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
