Margaret C. Grogan, 82, a longtime resident of Lenox, died Sunday after a brief illness at the home of her daughter, Susan A. Hayes, of Chili-Riga Town Line Road, Churchville, N.Y. Born in New York City on Aug. 28, 1924, daughter of John and Nora Sullivan Grady, she graduated from Mount St. Vincent College, Riverdale, N.Y. Mrs. Grogan was employed by Berkshire Life Insurance Co. as a receptionist and travel coordinator, retiring in 1990. She also worked at England's, Talbots and as a substitute teacher at Lenox Memorial High School. Her husband, John C. Grogan, died July 22, 1990. Besides her daughter, she leaves a sister, Helen O'Sullivan of Bayside, N.Y.; and two grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial for Margaret C. Grogan, who died Sunday, July 15, 2007, will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Scottsville, N.Y. She also leaves her son-in-law, Christopher Hayes; and grandchildren, Matthew and Erin Hayes. Memorial donations in her honor may be made to the Lenox Library, 18 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240.
