Armand A. Rivard Jr., 61

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Armand A. Rivard Jr., 61, of 77 Holbrook St. died Monday, July 30, 2007, at home after a long illness. Born in North Adams on Feb. 15, 1946, son of Armand A. Rivard Sr. and Clara Pierre Rivard, he attended the former St. Joseph's High School. Mr. Rivard was employed as a firefighter for the North Adams Fire Department for several years. He then was employed by North Adams Window Washing Co. and was the former owner and operator of a window-washing business. He also was a police officer and dog officer for the town of Clarksburg. He was last employed as a maintenance worker for Eric Rudd. He was a former member of the Massachusetts National Guard and enjoyed playing the guitar. He leaves a daughter, Kerry Hoag of North Adams, with whom he resided; a son, Jamie Rivard of North Adams; a stepdaughter, Angelia Giracca of Pittsfield; four stepsons; Joseph Forrest of Pittsfield, Wayne Forrest of North Carolina, and Chad Forrest and Rolland "Pete" Forrest, both of North Adams; a sister, Carol Sebastino of Pownal, Vt.; five grandchildren, Katelin Rivard, Amanda Hoag, Kiersten Hoag, Karissa Hoag and Riley Rivard; a great-grandson, Christian Rivera; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and his dog Scruffy. FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Rivard will be Friday at 5 p.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA FUNERAL HOME, WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Calling hours will be Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for the VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the funeral home.
