Mary Mierzejewski

Mary Mierzejewski, 89, formerly of Wells Road, died Wednesday at Sweet Brook Care Center in Williamstown. Born in Adams on March 20, 1918, daughter of Joseph and Katherine Petka Wojcik, she attended local schools, including St. Stanislaus' Elementary School. She was employed as a hairdresser for many years by the former Elsie's Beauty Parlor on Park Street in Adams. She purchased the business in 1945, renaming it Mary's Beauty Parlor, where she continued hairdressing until she retired in 1985. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus' Church and a member of the Polish National Alliance of Adams. Her husband, Raymond "Barney" Mierzejewski, whom she married Sept. 14, 1940, died March 21, 1993. Mrs. Mierzejewski leaves three nephews, Walter Urban of Dyersburg, Tenn., Vincent Zoito of Williamstown and Gregory Marszalek of Adams; three nieces, Joan Lampiasi of Adams, Barbara Leonovich of Longmeadow, and Rosalie Boulware of Camillus, N.Y. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Mary Mierzejewski, who died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, will take place Monday at 9 a.m. from the TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams. Services will be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus' Church in Adams, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Catholic Community of Adams. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus' Cemetery in Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. She was predeceased by a sister, Wanda Urban.
