Pauline Ghitalla

Pauline Ghitalla, 66, of Interlaken Cross Road died Saturday at home. Born in Plymouth, England, on Jan. 18, 1941, daughter of Eric and Nora Hill Grundy, she graduated from high school in England. She moved to Canada in 1955 and lived there until the early 1970s, when she moved to the Berkshires. Mrs. Ghitalla was a real estate agent with Cohen & White Real Estate Co. in Lenox before retiring this year. Before that, she worked for Wheeler & Taylor Realty Co. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining. Her former marriage to the late Armando Ghitalla, principal trumpet player with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, gave her the opportunity to travel the world. She leaves a brother, John Grundy of Oakville, Ontario, Canada. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Friends of Pauline Ghitalla, who died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, will gather on today, Aug. 28, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Housatonic home of Sandy Sanderson and Lisa Newmann. Pauline acquired and retained a love of classical music. She was an excellent chef and gracious entertainer and was constantly looking out for the welfare of others. We are not likely to linger again in the presence of such a fine, caring and loving person. She also leaves a niece and nephew, Laura and Eric Grundy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, in care of FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. Remembrances, memories and reflections may be sent to the family through www.finnertyandstevens.com.
