Eva M. Jowett, 93
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Eva M. Jowett, 93, of 1495 Massachusetts Ave., died Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in Brattleboro, Vt., on March 4, 1914, daughter of Joseph and Ellen Gustafson Luscier, she attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School.
Mrs. Jowett was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. until her retirement. Before that, she worked for the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates.
She was a member of St. Andrew's Chapel in the city's Blackinton section and enjoyed bowling and going to tag sales. Mrs. Jowett loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Her husband, Harry Jowett II, died Feb. 14, 1974.
She leaves two sons, Harry Jowett III of North Adams and Richard Jowett of Waterford, N.Y.; four daughters, Marlene Moon of North Adams, Gloria Jowett of Hollywood, Fla., Shiela Bowes of The Villages, Fla., and Donna Gaspardi of Adams; a sister, Dorothea Serre of North Adams; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by two daughters, Laura Couch and Frances Huband, and by two sisters and four brothers, Mary Langer, Alice Bardsley, Edward Luscier, Arthur Luscier, David Luscier and Joseph Luscier.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A memorial service for Mrs. Jowett will be held in the spring. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to St. Andrew's Chapel in care of FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements.
