Beverly J. Keefner, 78

GREAT BARRINGTON — Beverly J. Keefner, 78, of 31 Fairview Terrace died Monday, April 21, 2008, at Timberlyn Hieghts Nursing Center. Born in Tyringham on Feb. 10, 1930, daughter of Howell P. and Jennie Mange Stanard, she was a graduate of Lee High School. Mrs. Keefner was a secretary at the former Clark & Aiken Co. She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in South Lee. She enjoyed playing the guitar and singing, horses, country music, animals — especially cats and dogs — and traveling. Her husband, Raymond J. Keefner, whom she married in 1981 at First Congregational Church, died March 16, 2008. She leaves four brothers, William Stanard and Richard Stanard, both of South Lee, and Noel Stanard and Robert Stanard, both of Lee, and three sisters, Donna Sommerville of Otto, N.C., Bertha Vreeland of Becket and Shirley "Sally" Hunter of South Lee. Another brother, Howell F. Stanard, and a sister, jeanie Kirchner, are deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE — A graveside service for Beverly J. Keefner, who died April 21, 2008, will be conducted Thursday, April 24, at 11 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery by the Rev. Stanley Woolley. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at Church of the Good Shepherd at a date to be announced in June. Experssion of sympathy may be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd or to Hospice Services of Western Massachusetts in care of Birches-Roy Funeral Home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230, which is in charge of arrangements.
