Jefferson G. Hart, 70
NEW MARLBOROUGH — Jefferson George Hart, 70, of Canaan Southfield Road in Southfield died Saturday, June 14, 2008, at Fairview Commons in Great Barrington.
Born in Canaan, Conn., on Nov. 22, 1937, son of Wilbur and M. Louise Curtiss Hart, he was a lifelong resident of Southfield, and had been living in the house in which he was raised. He attended schools in Mill River.
Mr. Hart retired in 1999 from Berkshire School in Sheffield, where he had worked in the maintenance department for 10 years. He had previously worked at Becton Dickinson & Co. in Canaan.
He enjoyed spending time outdoors, such as fishing and working around his yard. He was also spent much of his time studying the Civil War era.
He and his wife, the former Shirley Bedell, would have celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary on June 24.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son Jason Hart, at home; a sister, Mina Stalker of Southfield; a brother, Paul Hart of Kansas, and several nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The family invites everyone to join them for a graveside service to celebrate the life of Jefferson G. Hart on Tuesday, June 24, at 1 p.m. in Lee Memorial Cemetery in Southfield.
