Theresa M. McGinnis, 66

NORTH ADAMS â€' Theresa Mary McGinnis, 66, of 1100 Mohawk Trail died Saturday, July 26, 2008, at Williamstown Commons. Born in Cohoes, N.Y., on June 20, 1942, a daughter of John Stanley and Mary Elizabeth Tanch Koblensky, she moved to Adams at the age of 5 to live with her aunt and uncle, Jake and Helen LaFlamme, who raised her. She graduated from the former Adams Memorial High School. A certified nursing assistant, Mrs. McGinnis was employed for the past 20 years by North Adams Commons as a rehabilitation specialist until her retirement. In her younger years, she was employed with the former General Cable Co. in Williamstown and Pownal, Vt., and the former Sprague Electric Co. She was a former communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church of Adams and of St. Francis of Assisi Church in North Adams. She enjoyed cooking, playing bingo and picking mushrooms. She was a devoted homemaker for her husband and their family. Her husband, William Alfred McGinnis, whom she married July 23, 1960, in St. Stanislaus' Church, died March 2, 2008. She leaves a son, William A. McGinnis, Jr of Las Vegas, Nev.; two daughters, Shelly McGinnis O'Donahue of Las Vegas, and Melissa McGinnis Lawrence and husband, Mark Lawrence, of Stamford, Vt.; five grandchildren, Joshua Martin, Sara Martin, Nicholas Lawrence, Matthew Lawrence and Chad Lawrence; three brothers, Charles, "Butch", and Joseph Koblensky of Cohoes, N.Y., area; a half-sister, Kathy Bond of Cohoes, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by a son, Glen Alan McGinnis in 1966 and by two brothers, Bernard and Richard Koblensky FUNERAL NOTICE â€' Memorial services to celebrate the life of Theresa Koblensky McGinnis and her husband, William Alfred McGinnis, will be conducted Saturday, Oct. 25, at 10 a.m. at Stamford (Vt.) Community Church on Main Road by the Rev. William Wilson Jr., pastor. A reception will follow at the clubhouse at Stamford Golf Course. Burial will be private in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to Elder Services of Berkshire County or Link to Life in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
