Veronica F. Makarski, 92
GREAT BARRINGTON — Veronica F. Makarski, 92, formerly of Housatonic, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at Great Barrington Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Born in South Deerfield on March 3, 1916, daughter of Waleny and Mary Mlynarcyz Sadlowski, she attended schools in Pittsfield.
Mrs. Makarski owned the former Ronnie's Beauty Shop in Pittsfield. She also worked in the weave shop at the former Monument Mills, at the former Barrington Manufacturing Co. and in the molding and packaging departments of Becton-Dickinson & Co. in Canaan, Conn.
She was a communicant of All Saint's Church in Housatonic and a member if its Rosary Sodality.
Her husband Joseph S. Makarski, whom she married on Oct. 15, 1938, in Holy Family Church in Pittsfield, died Aug. 31, 2006.
She leaves a son, Joseph Makarski and his wife, Antoinette, of Rockland; a daughter, Mary Anne Rammage and her husband, James, of Plano, Texas; four grandchildren, Christa and Steven Makarski, and Jennifer and Kevin Rammage, and three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Gregory and Hannah Makarski.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Veronica Makarski will be celebated Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 10 a.m. at All Saint's Church by the Rev. William P. Murphy, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Bridget's Cemetery. Family will receive friends at a calling hour preceding the funeral from 8:30-9:30 at Birches-Roy Funeral Home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory be made to the Activities Department at Great Barrington Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in care of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
