Amy D. Suthers, 81

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. â€' Amy Dorothy Suthers, 81, of 93 Cleveland Ave., Apt 34, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 1, 1926, daughter of Charles and Geneva Richards Hartman, she attended schools in Lenox and North Adams. Mrs. Suthers was first employed at the former Clark Biscuit Co. and later at the former Sprague Electric Co., retiring in 1989. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. She enjoyed bingo, reading and gardening. Her husband, Edward Frederick Suthers, whom she married April 28, 1951, in St. Francis' Church, died Sept. 20, 2006. She leaves two daughters, Catherine L. Aparicio of Silver Spring, Md., and Brenda L. Bard of North Adams; a son, Michael Edward Suthers of Lisbon Falls, Maine; five grandchildren, Daniel and Chad Suthers, Alexander and Edward Aparicio and Craig Bard, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six brothers and two sisters, Charles, William, Francis, Russell, Paul and Richard Hartman and Helen Lemaire and Doris McPherson. FUNERAL NOTICE â€' A Liturgy of Christian Burial will take place Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, are Saturday from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Memorial donations are suggested for the North Adams Ambulance Service through the funeral home.
