Norma M. Baker, 84
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Norma Mary Baker, 84, of 611 State Road died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in North Adams on March 31, 1924, daughter of Michael and Mary Ottani Urbano, she attended city schools.
Mrs. Baker was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. for a short time but primarily was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Incarnation Church. She enjoyed cooking and fishing.
Her husband, William Wolcott Baker, whom she married Sept. 14, 1946, died March 22, 2004.
She leaves a son, William D. Baker and his wife, Karen, of Williamstown; four daughters, Patricia Campedelli and Lynne Burdick and her husband, Edward, all of North Adams, Nancy Strauss and her husband, Charles, of Aurora, Colo., and Lisa Whitney and her husband, Allen, of Williamstown; a sister, Vera Urbano of South Hadley; 13 grandchildren, Jill Campedelli-Laurello, Joseph R. Campedelli, Richard Campedelli, Edward Burdick, Trevor Burdick, Shayne Burdick, Jessica Burdick, Kaitlin Baker, Alicia Baker, Amanda Whitney, Allen Whitney Jr., Matthew Strauss and David Strauss, a great-grandson, Jacob R. Laurello, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son-in-law Joseph P. Campedelli, her great-grandson Ryan Joseph Laurello, two brothers, Paul and Ralph Urbano, and eight sisters, Irene Richardson, Mafalda Thomas, Rita Maynard, Constance Boschetti, Frances Roy, Rose Luscier, Gloria Ames and Thelma Boulerice.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mrs. Baker will take place Thursday, Nov. 13, at 10:15 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed at 11 by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Burial will take place at a later date.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested for Childrens Hospital of Boston through the funeral home.
