Mildred Clark Lasher, 99
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Mildred Helen Clark Lasher, 99, of 1218 North Hoosac Road, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, at Sweet Brook Care Centers.
Born in Williamstown on March 2, 1909, daughter of Charles P. and Sophia Hoffay Swan, she attended schools in Williamstown and graduated from the former Williamstown High School in 1927.
Mrs. Lasher worked for many years as a bookkeeper at the former Phillips General Store, until her retirement. She was first employed by the Williamstown Public Schools in the cafeteria.
She was a member of 1st United Methodist Church and was an active member of the Williamstown Grange. She enjoyed cooking and sewing.
Her first husband, Judson E. Clark, whom she married in 1931, died in 1984.
Her husband, Robert O. Lasher, whom she married in 1987, died in 2001.
She leaves a son, Kenneth M. Clark of Broomall, Pa., 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two other sons, Donald J. Clark and Robert S. Clark; a grandson, Geoffrey Clark, and her siblings Dorothy Worthy, Gladys Paro and Charles Swan.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mildred Clark Lasher will be Monday, Dec. 1, at 11 at Williamstown Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery.
Calling hours at the church will be Monday from 10 until the time of the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to 1st United Methodist Church or the charity of the donor's choice in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
