Dorothy Moorehouse, 94

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Dorothy Moorehouse, 94, of The Field Home-Holy Comforter Nursing Home in Cortlandt Manor, N.Y., formerly of 12 Orchard Lane, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at Hudson Valley Hospital in Peekskill, N.Y. Born in Brookline on Nov. 23, 1914, daughter of Michael and Margaret Byrne McKenna, she attended schools in Brookline. She moved to Williamstown in 1943. Primarily a homemaker and devoted wife and mother, Mrs. Moorehouse was first employed by the First Bank of Boston for about 10 years. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church and was a member of its Ladies' Guild. She was an active member of the church for many years. She also enjoyed travel. Her husband, George E. Moorehouse, whom she married on Sept. 12, 1942, died on April 16, 1999. She leaves a son, George E. Moorehouse Jr. and his wife, Ann, of Yorktown Heights, N.Y., her grandchildren Melissa Moorehouse, Jennifer Moorehouse and Brian Moorehouse and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Walter McKenna, Ralph McKenna and Russell McKenna. FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Dorothy Moorehouse will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. Calling hours at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, 521 West Main St., North Adams will be Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick's Food pantry in care of the funeral home.
