Patricia A. Darling, 70
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. â€' Patricia Anne Darling, 70, of 648 State Road North died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at home, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Adams on Jan. 2, 1938, daughter of Alexander "Herman" and Dorothy Harrington Baker, she attended schools in Adams and, at age 50, earned her cosmetology certificate from McCann Technical School.
Mrs. Darling was last employed as a beautician. She had entered the work force after raising her family and was a teller and later a loan officer at First Agricultural Bank in Williamstown.
She was a life member of First Baptist Church. She loved spending time with family and friends, and was a loving and caring mother.
Her husband, Robert Earl Darling, whom she married April 19, 1952 in Pownal, Vt., died Jan. 18, 2006.
She leaves two daughters, Deborah Darling St. Pierre and her husband, Gene, of Stamford, Vt., and Dale Marie Thompson and her husband, Eino "Butch" Thompson, of North Adams; four sons, Daniel E. Darling and his wife, Natalie, of South Hadley, Darreld R. Darling and his wife, Penny, of Whittier, Calif., Dwayne A. Darling and his wife, Susan, of North Adams and Dereck O. Darling and his wife, Karriann, of Adams; two sisters, Bonnie Willey of Apex, N.C., and Linda Boulanger-LaFreniere and her husband, the Rev. Gregory LaFreniere, of Adams and Freeport, N.Y.; a brother, Attwood Baker and his wife, Marguarette, of Elk City, Okla., 23 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Dana E. Darling, in 1970.
FUNERAL NOTICE â€' Funeral services to celebrate Mrs. Darling's life will be conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. at 1st Baptist Church of North Adams by the Rev. David Anderson. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling Hours at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, will be Monday from 4 to 7.
Memorial donations are suggested for VNA and Hospice of Northern Berkshire or to the 1st Baptist Church Youth Program through the funeral home.
