Olive R. Deering, 90
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Olive R. Deering, 90, a native of North Adams, died peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at the Fountainview Center for Alzheimer's Disease in Atlanta.
Born on Nov. 6, 1918, she was the daughter of Harry and Josephine Cardinal Bissaillon. She also had resided in Westerly, R.I., and in Bellingham.
Mrs. Deering will be remembered by family and friends as a nurturing homemaker dedicated to providing a clean, safe and healthy home life for her family, and there was always a great homemade dessert.
She was preceded in death by her husband William J. "Bill" Deering Jr.
She leaves four daughters, Patricia A. Ryzewski of Murrell's Inlet, S.C., Dawn E. Hunter of Kennesaw, Ga., Maureen Udstuen-Fitzroy of Plainville and Diane D. Tidwell of Woodstock, Ga.; a brother; Calvin Bissaillon of Jacksonville, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE — In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Deering to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 North Michigan Ave., Suite 1700, Chicago, IL 60601. A memorial service will be held in North Adams at a later date. Arrangements by the Cremation Society of Georgia.
