Msgr. Thomas W. Hendel, 89
GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Monsignor Thomas William Hendel, 89, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at Fairview Commons.
A native of Queens, N.Y., he was baptized at St. Benedict Joseph in Richmond Hill, N.Y. He graduated from Cathedral Preparatory Seminary in New York in 1939.
Monsignor Hendel was adminstrator and later pastor at St. Benedict Joseph in the 1980s
He leaves his loving niece Elsie Jean DeVoti and her husband, Thomas, of Egremont and several great- and great-grandnieces and -nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services will be held at the Leahy McDonald Funeral Home in Richmond Hill.
