Jane E. Paradise, 96
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Jane Elizabeth Paradise, 96, of 209 Notch Road died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in North Adams on Nov. 16, 1912, daughter of Ettore and Maria Maoli Mariani, she attended North Adams schools.
Mrs. Paradise was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. for 46 years until her retirement in 1977.
She was a communicant of the former St. Anthony of Padua Church and a member of its Rosary Society. She enjoyed knitting and gardening.
Her husband, Harold K. "Bud" Paradise, whom she married Oct. 12, 1946, died Jan. 7, 1992.
She leaves nieces and nephews, including Margaret Duguay, James Crews, Janet Lanoue and Michael Mariani of North Adams; Madelyn Foster of Pittsfield; David Mariani of Williamstown and Ralph Mariani of Lady Lake, Fla., and grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings Ralph Mariani, Alfred Mariani and Maude Crews.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Paradise will be Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 9:15 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, formerly St. Anthony's Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Marian Fathers in care of the funeral home.
