Mary A. Ashton, 89

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Mary Agnes Ashton, 89, formerly of 80 Langlois Ave. died Saturday, May 30, 2009, at the home of her daughter Mary Dall in Panama City, Fla. Born in Adams on April 12, 1920, daughter of Charles and Marion Culver Desrosiers, she attended the former Notre Dame School there and graduated from the former Adams High School in 1938. Mrs. Ashton worked at the former General Electric in Pittsfield for 32 years until her retirement in 1985. She was a communicant of Sts. Patrick and Raphael's Church. She was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club and was a winter resident of Venice, Fla. Her first husband, Stanley Dudziak, and second husband, George Aubrey, are both deceased. Her husband, Robert G. Ashton, whom she married Nov. 23, 1991, died in November 2001. Besides her daughter, she leaves another daughter, Carol Dickinson of Cheshire; four sons, Stanley Dudziak and Stephen Dudziak, both of Hinsdale, Michael Dudziak of Adams and Christopher Dudziak of Williamstown; two stepchildren, Robert G. Ashton Jr. of Brookline, N.H., and Deborah Buzzell of Hudson, N.H., 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her 10 siblings,including Roma Sweeney. FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Ashton will be celebrated Wednesday June 3, at 10 at St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown. Burial will be at a later date in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Panama City in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
