Loretta F. Garand, 93

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Loretta Florence Garand, 93, of 102 Lincoln St. died Saturday, June 20, 2009, at North Adams Regional Hospital, following a short illness. Born in Napierville, Quebec, on Oct. 2, 1915, daughter of Adjutor and Eliza Bouchard Remillard, she attended North Adams schools, including the former Notre Dame School. Mrs. Garand worked in the former Hoosac Mills and was last employed by Hunter Outdoor Products until her retirement in the late 1970s. Her husband, Lionel B. Garand, died May 14, 1974. She leaves two grandchildren, Holly M. Saunders of North Adams and Gary M. Garand of the state of Virginia; a brother, Norman Remillard and his wife, Marcelle, of North Adams; her daughter-in-law, Mary R. Garand of Williamstown; three great-grandchildren, Katie Saunders of North Adams, Samantha Garand, serving with the Army in Iraq, and Lisa Garand of Colorado, nieces and nephews including Carol Lavigne and her husband, Robert, of North Adams and grandnieces and grandnephews including Michele Haskins of Pownal, Vt. Her son, Raymond L. Garand, died on Sept. 29, 2006. Fourteen brothers and sisters are deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Mrs. Garand will be private. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA & Hospice of North Berkshire or North Adams Ambulance Service in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.

We know that you will see the truth of what has happen to us where you are, now that you are free from those who told you untruths about us. Be restful, thank you for loving us when we were there.
