Amanda M. Parsons, 25
EGREMONT, Mass. â€' Amanda M. Parsons, 25, of Hillsdale Road, South Egremont, died early Saturday morning, July 25, 2009, in Sheffield as a result of injuries sustained in a motor-vehicle accident.
Born in Great Barrington on Dec. 23, 1983, she was the daughter of Kenneth O. Parsons of Copake, N.Y., and of Mary Stalker Delmolino of South Egremont, she graduated from Monument Mountain Regional High School in Great Barrington in 2002. She had graduated this past May from Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield with a degree in nursing.
Ms. Parsons had been employed for the past nine years as a certified nursing assistant at Noble Horizons Nursing Home in Salisbury, Conn. She was very dedicated to her nursing career and was looking forward to continuing it.
She played basketball for the Golden Knights in Great Barrington, along with volleyball and softball at Monument Mountain Regional High School. She was also a member of the local Girl Scout Troop.
Besides her parents and her mother's husband, Dante Delmolino, she leaves a sister, Amber M. Parsons of South Egremont; her maternal grandmother, Evelyn Stalker, and her maternal aunt, Betty Stalker, both of South Egremont; her maternal uncle, Peter Stalker and his wife, Debbie, of Taconic, N.Y., and her cousins Peter, George Jr., Christopher, Erica and Elana.
She was predeceased by her maternal uncle, George R. Stalker Sr., maternal grandfather, Peter Stalker Sr., and her paternal grandparents Kenneth Parsons Sr. and Marian Parsons.
FUNERAL NOTICE â€' Funeral services celebrating the life of Ms. Parsons will be conducted on Thursday, July 30, at 11 from Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington by the Rev. Charles VanAusdall. Burial will follow in the North Hillsdale Cemetery in Hillsdale, N.Y.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 29, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home.
