Donald I. Reid, 78
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Donald Irving Reid, 78, of 58 West End Terrace, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in Wilmington, Vt., on June 1, 1931, son of Frank and Mary Hughes Reid, he graduated from Wilmington High School and from Bryant College in Smithfield, R.I.
He was an Army veteran.
Mr. Reid was employed for many years in the accounting department at the former Sprague Electric Co. and was last employed at Ashley Swift Plumbing Co.
He was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Mercy Church and was a member of Frank R. Stiles Post 125 American Legion. He enjoyed bowling and his cats and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
His beloved wife, the former Josephine Mary "Jo" Siatkowski, whom he married Sept. 12,1964, died Jan. 17, 2009.
He leaves two stepdaughters, Patricia Kelly of Cheshire and Joanna Salkovitz and her husband, Murray, of Palm Coast, Fla., four grandchildren, Christopher and Cary Bushika, Rick D'Elia and Kellie Laskin, and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by three sisters.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Private calling hours and a Liturgy of Christian Burial for family only will be celebrated at St. Mary's of the Assumption in Cheshire. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
