Gerald Pessolano, 84
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Gerald "Jerry" Pessolano, 84, of 85 Eagle St. died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at home.
Born in North Adams on Jan. 20, 1926, a son of Cero and Ivy Davison Pessolano, he graduated from Drury High School in 1943.
A decorated Marine veteran of World War II, he participated in the Okinawa campaign and the occupation of Yokosuka, Japan.
Mr. Pessolano was employed at the former Sprague Electric Co. and also owned and operated family business Jerry’s Antenna Service. He was last employed at the former Hunter Outdoor Products.
He was a former member of Dr. George L. Curran Post 996 VFW in North Adams.
He and his wife, the former Marcia A. Seasons, were married on July 30, 1955.
Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Lawrence Pessolano and his wife, Dona, of Bennington, Vt., David Pessolano and his wife, Sharon, of Stamford, Vt., and Randy Pessolano and his wife, Karen, of North Adams; a daughter, Gayle Fenton and her husband, William, of Pittsfield; a sister, Florence Francis, of North Adams; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and an aunt, Dorothy Bliss, of North Adams.
He was predeceased by his sister Rita Luczynski and brothers Anthony, Donald and Robert Pessolano.
FUNERAL NOTICE — At Mr. Pessolano's request, burial will be private in the family plot in Southview Cemetery with military honors.
