Ann L. Lockwood, 78
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Ann L. Lockwood, 78, of 227 Franklin St. died Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at North Adams Commons.
Born in North Adams on April 30, 1932, daughter of James and Jeanette Rogerson Lockwood, she graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1950. She attended what was then North Adams State College and graduated from Berkshire Community College with a degree in criminal justice. She also attended the State Police Academy in Framingham.
Ms. Lockwood was employed by North Adams State College as a lieutenant with its campus police for 22 years. Before that, she worked for the U.S. Postal Service as rural route carrier. In her younger years, she helped build the Trans-Canada Highway.
She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and of the Order of Eastern Star and Frank R. Stiles Post 125 American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary.
She leaves a daughter, Cathy A. Marshall of Anderson, Ind.; two sons, Michael J. Heyes of Fort Wayne, Ind., and John C. Lockwood of Merrimac; two grandchildren, Miles C. Lockwood and Crystal Belsky, and a great-grandson, Brett Belsky
FUNERAL NOTICE — Calling hours for Ms. Lockwood will be Wednesday, Nov. 3, from 5 to 7 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams.
Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire in care of the funeral home.
