CHESHIRE, Mass. -- The Hoosac Valley football team got big production from Vance Eugene and Brenden Ellsworth Saturday in a 32-6 win over Chicopee.

The Hurricanes (2-3) were the first team on the board, taking their second possession the length of the field and scoring from a yard out on a QB keeper up the middle by Eugene.

For the rest of the first quarter both teams played a field possession game punting the ball back and forth it wasn’t until the end of the first when Hoosac converted a long third down play putting the Hurricanes into a scoring position again.

At the beginning of the second quarter, Hoosac was able to score a second time on a 5-yard screen pass from Eugene to Ellsworth. Chicopee found the end zone late in the second quarter when Hoosac Valley fumbled a snap on its own 20-yard line.

The Pacers (3-2) were able to convert the turnover into points on a 5-yard rush from Korey Potter, and the first half ended with Hoosac up, 14-6.

Hoosac started the second half the same way as the first. Hoosac was first on the board with another Eugene rushing touchdown from 3 yards out. Then late in the third quarter Hoosac’s Austin Mendel was able to block a Pacers punt.
