Daugherty Scores Late to Lift Drury Boys

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Max Daugherty scored in the 77th minute to break a scoreless tie and lift the Drury boys soccer team to a 1-0 win over Taconic on Friday night.
 
Reece Racette set up the game-winner, which gave allowed the Blue Devils (4-3) to break a three-game winless streak.
 
“Good game, good battle, and Max and Reece stepped up late to put one in and secure us the win,” Drury coach John Jacobbe said. “Corbin Rumbolt made some excellent saves to preserve the shutout, and it was a good win in sloppy conditions.”
 
Rumbolt was credited with five saves.
 
Jaden Cross made five stops for Taconic (0-5), which goes to Wahconah on Monday.
 
Drury hosts Mount Everett on Tuesday.
