NORTH ADAMS -- Damon Couture scored twice, including the prettiest goal of the match, as the McCann Tech boys soccer team posted another shutout win -- this time 7-0 over St. Joseph on Thursday.

Couture had a team-high three assists, including one on the game-winner.

It came in the third minute when Couture sent a through ball up the middle for Shane Fuller, who converted for one of his three goals.

Couture doubled McCann's lead in the 32nd minute after working a give-and-go up the middle with Evan Lemire. That started a run of four McCann goals in a little more than eight minutes to put the game out of reach.

Couture capped the run in the final minute of the half.

"Damon Couture stepped up his game with a great team effort, scoring two goals and assisting on three goals," McCann coach Tom Bona said. "The best goal was the last of the first half when Steve Lemire made a cross from the right and Damon put it in the back of the net crashing through the 6-yard box."

Josh Budaj and Jon Leal each had a goal for McCann. Chris Gajda made 11 saves in the Hornets' goal.

"Teamwork was the key to today's victory," Bona said. "The defense also played tough, getting the fourth shutout in five games."

McCann (5-0) travels to Commerce on Friday.
