HUNTINGTON, Mass. -- In its first night game of the season, the McCann Tech boys soccer team Wednesday, Ivan Liang assisted on both goals as the Hornets defeated Gateway, 2-1.

Midway through the first half, Liang set up Sean Rousseau to give McCann Tech a 1-0 lead.

After the hosts battled back to tie it at half-time, the Hornets refocused during the break.

“During half-time, I spoke with the boys and encouraged them to keep up the intensity pressuring the ball, and they did just that,” McCann Tech coach Stephen McAllister said.

Liang set up Justin Chen for the game-winner in the second half.

Michael Harris stopped six shots to earn the win in goal.

McCann Tech (6-2-4) hosts Commerce on Friday.
