CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Dan Litchfield scored twice in the first 10 minutes to help propel the Mount Everett boys soccer team to a 3-0 win over Hoosac Valley on Wednesday.

Brendan Dempsey scored an insurance goal in the second half, and Patrick Silk stopped two shots for the Eagles (7-1).

“We did not come to play,” Hoosac Valley coach Mike Russo said. “Mount Everett did, and they took advantage of our lack of competitiveness to score two quick goals.”

Jaydin Cooper had three saves for Hoosac (2-6-1), which goes to Mohawk Trail on Friday.
