St. Joe Boys Edge Taconic

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The St. Joseph boys soccer team defeated Taconic Tuesday afternoon, 2-1.
 
The Crusaders struck first in the first half with 19 minutes on the clock; it came from Mike Peplowski, assisted by Jose Mejia putting them up 1-0 at half-time.
 
They came out in the second half and added another from Nico Terpak to give them a 2-0 lead.
 
Taconic was able to cut the lead to one with a goal from Luis Rodriguez assisted by Ryan Abel, but St. Joe was able to hold on for the 2-1 victory.
 
Joey Maynard had four saves in net for the Crusaders; Cody Latimer had six for Taconic.
 
Taconic (3-4-2) plays on the road Thursday at Mount Everett. St. Joe (4-1-2) plays Thursday at Hoosac Valley.
