PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Tyler Norcross scored one goal and assisted on another Thursday to lead the Hoosac Valley boys soccer team to a 3-1 win over Taconic at Berkshire Community College.

Norcross opened the scoring with an unassisted goal five minutes into the game, and the score stayed there the rest of the first half.

Job Vengali converted a penalty kick early in the second half to tie it.

With 28 minutes left, Brodie Lanoue headed in a goal off an assist from Norcross on a set piece.

The Hurricanes added a goal in the closing seconds when Isaac Herrmann converted a Matt Tassone pass for the final margin.

“We had most of the ball during the first half, but Taconic responded really well and was dangerous all second half,” Hoosac Valley coach Patrick Mahoney said. “Really competitive, fun match. Well-played by both teams.

“This was our third away match in four days, so we will definitely appreciate the three-day break.”

Hoosac Valley (3-0-2) is home against Putnam on Monday.

Taconic (1-3-1) is at Pioneer Valley Christian School on Monday.
