This week's iBerkshires.com/Southwestern Vermont Medical Center Athletes of the Week have been putting up some impressive individual performances while helping their teams stay atop the their league standings.

Mount Greylock junior Cornelia Swabey has been one of the top two finishers for the undefeated Mounties in every cross country race where she has competed this fall.

Overall at those meets, she has placed first, second and fourth in the field.

Last week, Swabey was fourth overall and the second fastest Mount Greylock finisher, helping lead her team to a three-point win over previously unbeaten Lenox.

The Mount Greylock girls picked up three dual meet wins at Wahconah on Thursday to move to 10-0 this season.

This Tuesday, Mount Greylock goes to Lenox for a rematch with the Millionaires in one of just two regular season league meets remaining on the calendar.

There have been some great performances by area golfers around the county this fall, but none better than the day Wahconah sophomore Kesler Anello had on his home course a couple of weeks ago.

Anello birdied four of his nine holes and finished three strokes under par on the front nine at Wahconah Country Club in a match against Mount Everett.

Anello consistently has been one of the top performers all year for Wahconah, which sports an 8-1 record after Friday's win at Hoosac Valley.

Wahconah has two matches scheduled this week before Anello and the county's other top golfers visit Williamstown's Taconic Golf Club for the Berkshire Classic, where, last year, he placed fourth in the field, five strokes off the winning pace, at the Country Club of Pittsfield.

The iBerkshires.com Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.
