Monument Mountain Plays Pope to a Draw

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Calvin Cooney Tuesday made five saves to backstop the Monument Mountain boys soccer team to a scoreless tie with Pope Francis.

 

The Spartans and Cardinals each earned five shots on goal in the stalemate.

 

Monument Mountain posted its third scoreless tie in its last four matches and ran its .500 record to 4-4-6 this fall.

 

The Spartans finish the regular season with a trip to Amherst on Thursday and a home game against Rutland on Saturday.
