GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Milo Potoski had a hat trick Monday to lead the Monument Mountain boys soccer team to a 4-2 win over Pittsfield.

Potoski scored back-to-back goals to break a 1-1 tie to open the second half.

After Bashiru Sowe scored with an assist from Dan Varon to get the Generals back within a goal, Mason Whiteman scored to give the Spartans some breathing room.

“In the second half, Monument capitalized on our mistakes and was able to extend its lead,” Pittsfield coach Ryan Wanek said. “I was proud of the boys’ fight throughout the entire game even while down for a majority of it.”

Whiteman also had an assist in the win.

Kevin Campo scored a goal for Pittsfield, which finishes the year with a record of 5-11-3.

Monument Mountain (6-6-6) learns Saturday where and against whom it will begin play in the Division 4 State Tournament.
