LENOX, Mass. – Dylan Blake scored midway through the second half to level the score, and the Lenox boys soccer team Thursday earned a hard-fought, 1-0, tie against Easthampton.

Lenox coach Jedd Hall called it “one of the most intense and even games of the season.”

The Millionaires carried the play for much of the first half, but the Eagles earned a breakaway goal in the 25th minute to go ahead.

“Going into the second half, I told my guys to keep playing the high press and find the holes in the middle,” Hall said. “That strategy paid off about 20 minutes into the second half when a ball landed in a pile of defenders right in front of the goal and freshman Dylan Blake seized the moment and slotted home a short ball to bring the game 1-1.”

Lenox outshot Easthampton, 15-8.

Jason Sibley stopped seven shots to earn the tie in goal.

“Despite the tie it shows that Lenox can play toe to toe with some very strong Division 4 teams, and heading into Western Mass and the State Tournaments they are looking like they are starting to be in peak form,” Hall said.

The Millionaires (4-6-4) are at Mount Greylock next Thursday.
