McCann Tech Girls Earn Tie at Central

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Jordyn Lloyd had a goal and an assist Friday as the McCann Tech girls soccer team earned a 2-2 tie against Springfield Central in the Hornets' season-opener.

 

Lloyd set up a goal by Shaylee Lawson and converted a direct kick.

 

"I'm proud of our strong start against a solid team," McCann Tech coach Lindsay Lincoln said. "Our seniors, Jordyn and Shaylee, were aggressive out of the gate, and we controlled the game, offensively, outshooting Central, 20-6.

 

"Faith Brazeau controlled the defensive line with a stellar effort."

 

Natalie Tatro stopped six saves for the Hornets.

 

McCann Tech (0-0-1) hosts Springfield International Charter on Tuesday.
